Norton's dog sculptures make up a large portion of his work. He has been making them for over 20 years and has carved more than 80 distinct breeds, many random-bred dogs and some "one-of-a-kind" dogs, working often from family photos. Norton's dogs are carved from eastern white pine and most (all except for the 12" puppies) have laminated 3-dimensional heads. Sizes given are approximate and range from one foot to six feet tall.
